Hyperlight Photography - Professional Services Pricing.
I have a different style and business model than most photographers. While most photographers shoot in a studio and sell you pictures priced by the print, I prefer to shoot on location, in a comfortable setting for you and your family. My pricing philosophy is different too, I charge an hourly rate for professional services, this covers all of my business overhead and editing costs, I do not charge you any additional for printing your photos, I provide you with all of your images on CD. You then have the freedom to walk into just about any photo lab in the country and get your photos printed at much more reasonable prices. Typical lab prices are around $0.29 per 4x6 and $0.99 per 5x7.As an added benefit I will also post them onto a secure password protected web site for any of your friends and family from around the globe you wish to share them with. They can even order prints right from the site which will be shipped directly to them in a couple of days. That means that your grandmother in Wisconsin and your favorite uncle in Arizona can see the pictures any time they want and not have to ask you to make reprints!
Hyperlight Photography Professional Services
Portrait Photography If you're looking for someone to take family portraits, professional
head shots, or senior portraits I can provide you with all of those:- My rate is $150/hr, with a 1-hour minimum. You can book time in 1-hour blocks for as long as you want.
- The rate above is for a 1-person sitting fee. You can add additional people to the shoot for $50/hr. Children under 1 year old are no additional charge for a mom or dad and baby session.
- If you want to do a shoot with your pet(s), the $150/hr will cover 1 pet. Additional animals will be $25/hr.
- In a 2-hour shoot, there is enough time to do 4-6 outfit changes. Time spent moving between locations is on the clock.
- I require a 50% non-refundable deposit up front to reserve the day, with the other 50% due
on the date of the event (the first day of the event, if a multiple-day event). There are no
hidden costs, you pay for my time and the shots are yours forever.
- I typically take 40-100 pictures per hour, and out of those, 30-50 will be "keepers" that I will retouch for you.
- 5-10 shots for each hour shot will get converted to black & white (or sepia).
- All of your shots will be available online for viewing and for out of town family to order prints.
- All event photography includes travel within a 50-mile radius of Tampa, FL - outside of the 50 mile radius I charge 50c per mile and $50 per hour of travel time.
- For events more than 4 hours away by car (and all out of state events), the client is responsible for all travel costs including, flights, accommodation, meals, transport etc.
My photography style is not your typical boring fake "say cheese" poses. My preference is to capture the emotions of the day, going with the flow, and trying to interfere as little as possible. If you have specific requests for posing certain shots before or after the ceremony, I can of course do that too, but I think my creative style shines the brightest when I can just observe & let things happen on their own. A wedding day is already scripted and planned enough, there's no need for me to try and control events to my idea of how it should look - things have a way of working out in the end.
What to expect from me on the big day, I will typically want to show up a little bit before the ceremony, in order to get pictures of the bride, groom, and family getting ready - last minute dress fixes, brightly polished tuxedo shoes, adorable little flower girls, and churches bustling with last-minute activity are all great things to capture on your special day.
After the whole event is complete, I will return to my editing suite and start editing your shots. After about 10 business days or so (usually less), instead of giving you prints, I'll provide you with a CD that has your finished images on it, that you can take into the photo lab of your choice , and print to your heart's content. I will also post all of your shots up on my event web site, so that you can show off your pics to your family all over the world. They can also order prints through the web site for very reasonable rates. There is no need to rely on me for reprints now, or in the future. There are no hidden costs, you pay for my time and the shots are yours forever.
- My rate is $250/hr, with a 2-hour minimum for the wedding day, which is usually just enough time to capture a little bit of preparation and the ceremony.
- You're free to book additional time in 1-hour blocks at $250 each, if you want me to shoot engagement photos, rehearsal dinners,and/or the reception. 4 hours is usually adequate for prep, ceremony, and reception photos. You can purchase a 4 hour block and I can split the shooting over two sessions to get the engagement photos done before the main wedding event.
- On the day of the wedding, if the reception is still going strong as the end of my contract nears, I'm almost always available to stay later. I will need the additional $250/hr at the time the decision is made.
